Council Tax
Council Taxt
Under Tendring First councillors, TDC’s council tax was kept as the lowest in Essex for many years at a time when Conservative-run Essex County doubled their council tax and nearly every other council in the county was also Conservative-run.

During that time, TDC was taken from a position of near bankruptcy to a healthy, well run council, with money being spent on improving a whole range of services and facilities.

For comparison, Band D Council Tax in Tendring in 2008/09 was £144.12. In Essex, the highest was Harlow at £242.10 and Basildon just behind at £242.01, with Castle Point and Rochford at £212.40 and £188.00 respectively

Clearly, there is still much work to be done in our area, but the track record of Tendring First Councillors in balancing the books, managing resources carefully and improving services is there for all to see.
