A recent report highlighted that 111 officers at Essex County Council earned more than £80,000 a year, with nine earning more than the Prime Minister and the Chief Executive earning more than £280,000 a year. All introduced by a Conservative administration and supported by its county councillors. This has been going on for years and has got worse, as this link to a November 2009 article shows
